DIY Cold and Flu Tincture

DIY Cold and Flu Tincture Ingredients:

  • 1/2 oz Fresh or dried echinacea
  • 1/2 oz Fresh or dried Lemon balm
  • 3 Tablespoons Elderberry extract
  • 1 Tablespoon Licorice root extract
  • One garlic clove
  • 1/4 cup raw honey
  • 3-4 cups of 80 proof or higher clear vodka
  • Mason Jar for tincture settling
  • Mason Jar for adding extracts in final proccess
  • Jars or containers to place finished tincture.


Tincture settling process:

  1. Grind your enchinacea and lemon balm into a fine powder.
  2. Place your herb powder mix into a clean mason jar
  3. Place a single garlic clove into mason jar
  4. Place 1/4 cup raw honey into mason jar
  5. Fill mason jar with a "good" amount of vodka.
  6. Seal mason jar and set in a cool dark place for 1-4 weeks.
  7. Shake your settling tincture once a day during the 1-4 weeks.


DIY Cold and Flu Tincture Instructions:

  1. Strain the settled tincture mix through a cheesecloth or coffee filter into a second mason jar.
  2. Place 3 tablespoons elderberry extract into second mason jar
  3. Place 1 tablespoon licorice extract into second mason jar
  4. Seal lid on second mason jar
  5. Shake vigorously for one to two minutes.
  6. Add your completed Cold and Flu tincture to your final containers.
  7. Enjoy!
