Sciatica Pain Relief Salve

Nerve pain is more difficult to treat than other types of muscle and joint pain. There are a select group of herbs that specifically help with nerve pain. This Sciatica Pain Relief Salve will help ease your nerve pain by targeting the pain receptors specifically. It is a great salve to keep on hand for anyone who suffers the disabling effects of nerve pain in general. I hope you find relief with the following simple recipe.

Sciatica Pain Relief Salve:

  • 1 cup organic olive oil
  • 3/4 oz rosemary
  • 1/4 oz cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 oz beeswax
  • 1/4 tsp vitamin E
  • Peppermint essential oil
  • Wintergreen essential oil
  • Salve tins, jars or container

Cold Infusion Preparation:

  1. Grind the rosemary and cayenne pepper into a fine powder.
  2. Fill a container that you can close with 1 cup organic olive oil.
  3. Place your herb powder and cayenne pepper into container with oil.
  4. Let sit for 1-4 weeks giving it a good shake once a day.

Instructions:

  1. Fill pot halfway with water and place glass measuring bowl inside the pot.
  2. Turn heat on medium low.
  3. Strain cold infusion oil through a cheesecloth or coffee filter into a clean bowl.
  4. Add oil to measuring bowl you have been warming.
  5. Add the beeswax and let melt.
  6. To test consistency, place a small amount on wax paper and place in freezer for a few minutes. Add more beeswax if not firm enough or oil if too firm.
  7. Remove from heat when you have a favorable consistency.
  8. Make sure your salve is still warm enough to work with, but cool enough it will not burn you before completing the following steps.
  9. Add vitamin E
  10. Add 4 Drops Peppermint Essential Oil
  11. Add 1 Drop Wintergreen Essential Oil
  12. Mix well.
  13. Pour into tins or jars or any long term container while product is still warm.
